Property Description

Experience the spectacular “Lighting the Sound” in Albany over three weekends in March 2026 on board the "Young Salty Dog" with King George Sound Safari.

The largest outdoor light installation of its type ever staged on Earth? You bet. Experience it from key vantage points around the Albany townsite but get the best front row seat and view it from Princess Royal Harbour on a King George Sound Safari.

The landscape sets the stage, with water adding reflection and depth to create a sweeping panoramic visual feast. Presented by @formwa, produced in collaboration with world-renowned Finnish light artist Kari Kola @karikola, and co-designed with Menang Elders and the Albany community, Lighting the Sound will transform Albany’s natural coastline and landmarks into an immersive light spectacular over three weekends, 13-15, 20-22, and 27-29 March 2026.

We offer 3 tours nightly of 1 hour each on the harbour for the best exhibition view.

Seats for this amazing experience are extremely limited — only 12 available per tour, so book fast!

Tickets Prices:

$60 each for Adults, Concession and Children (5 to 17)

$30 for Infants (1-4)

Infants under 1 are FREE and do NOT count towards the passenger count.

Our safe & stable, twin-hull catamaran, the "Young Salty Dog" (an ex Sea Rescue vessel), holds up to 12 passengers.

Captain Mark provides a personalised tour, viewing the entire exhibition from the best viewing positions around Princess Royal Harbour - from Vancouver Peninsula to Little Grove to Torndirrup.

We also visit a photographers favourite, an old shipwrecked Whale Chaser, the Cheynes II which broke its moorings and ran aground.

BYO food and alcohol are welcome
